“On behalf of Guam Football Association, it is an honor and privilege to officially welcome FIFA President Gianni Infantino and the FIFA delegates to Guam and to showcase Guam’s football development and potential on the international stage,” said Valentino San Gil, GFA President. “During his visit, we look forward to sharing the progress of our football development in Guam and in the region, as well as detailing the many challenges we face in realizing our true potential in international football.

“As his visit coincides with our appreciation event for our clubs and members – Gupot GFA 2023 Block Party – President Infantino will see firsthand the joy the sport brings to the community and the many opportunities the sport presents to our athletes, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers, and other stakeholders,” San Gil added.

Infantino and the FIFA delegates are scheduled to arrive at the GFA National Training Center at 3 p.m. Sunday. Infantino will address all in attendance at the Gupot GFA 2023 Block Party, meet members of the football community, and take part in small-sided recreational matches while at GFA.

In an official communication from Infantino to San Gil, he wrote, “I am looking forward to meeting the members of the Guam football community and the government officials. It will be a unique opportunity to visit the various infrastructure projects carried out, to share our vision of football and the ways to further develop our game in Guam and promote its values. I have no doubt this visit will strengthen our ties and enable us to continue working together to accomplish these objectives.”

Schedules of matches at the Gupot GFA 2023 Block Party are available online at https://guamfa.powerupsports.com

Matches begin at 10 a.m. Other than matches during the day, the block party also will feature an awards ceremony for all the concluded adult leagues.
