Guam Sports Network is proud to be hosting the 2024 High School Boys Basketball Champion v. Champion game at the FD Phoenix Center on Sunday, March 10.
Presented by the Bank of Guam and IT&E Guam, the champions from IIAAG’s league and ISA’s league will face off to settle which team is truly the island’s best.
The teams facing off have yet to be determined as both leagues are only just getting into their playoffs. Teams set to clash will officially be announced the evening of March 8, just a couple days prior to our Champion v. Champion event is set to take place.
This event has taken place since the initial split between public and private schools took place with the intention of seeking out which teams are truly the champions of each year. GSPN has hosted such Champion v. Champion events for multiple other sports since the split occurred and kept athletes from having the opportunity to face each other and expand their competitive experiences.
WIN A NEW CAR FROM TRIPLE J
For those planning on being in the audience, GSPN will also be hosting an opportunity of your own to end the night feeling like a champion! Sponsored by Triple J, the event will take place with an opportunity to win a brand new Kia. Every paid customer above 16 years of age will be eligible to participate in the competition. One number will be drawn from the paid fee for the ability to compete. If the number pulled belongs to a person who is below the age of 16 or unable to participate in the event, that person will be granted the ability to choose any member of their party to represent them in the event. The competitor will have one minute to successfully execute all of a layup, free throw, 3-pointer, and half-court shot in order to win their prize!
JUNIOR VARSITY CHAMPIONSHIP
Because both leagues don’t have a post season, the GW Geckos (ISA) and St. Paul Warriors (IIAAG) have won their respective leagues by best record. The Geckos and Warriors will tip off at 5 pm for the top team in the junior varsity division.
The GSPN crew looks forward to finding out which teams confirmedly deserves the title of Guam’s 2024 High School Boys Basketball Champion and we are sure that the athletes and supporters of the sport share the sentiment. GSPN and our fellow sponsors look forward to seeing you there!
