Guam promotion to take Japan by storm!

PRESS RELEASE – Marianas Pro Japan, set to take place on Saturday, March 9, in Nagoya, Japan, is poised to make history as one of the largest jiu-jitsu tournaments in the region. With over 1,100 athletes competing, including nearly 200 Guam competitors, this sold-out event has captured the  attention of the global jiu-jitsu community. 

Supported by the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), Marianas Pro Japan has gained remarkable  momentum, earning its place among the top three jiu-jitsu tournaments in Japan sanctioned by  ASJJF (Asian Sport Jiu-Jitsu Federation). What began modestly with just two mats and fewer than  100 competitors has evolved into a prestigious event drawing thousands of participants from around the world. 

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) for their invaluable support of Marianas Pro Japan. Their commitment to promoting sportsmanship, talent, and cultural  exchange has been instrumental in making this event a resounding success. GVB’s dedication has not only elevated the stature of jiu-jitsu in the region but has also strengthened the enduring ties between Guam and Japan. We are truly grateful for their unwavering support and partnership in  bringing this extraordinary tournament to fruition. 

For years, Guam’s local athletes traveled to Japan to compete in prestigious tournaments. Now,  Marianas Pro Japan brings the prestige of international competition to Japanese soil, marking a  significant milestone for the jiu-jitsu community in both Guam and Japan.

Marianas Pro Japan is a premier jiu-jitsu event that has gained recognition as one of the top  tournaments in Japan, sanctioned by ASJJF. With over 1,100 athletes competing, including nearly  200 Guam competitors, Marianas Pro Japan brings together top talent from around the world.  Supported by the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), this sold-out event marks a significant milestone for the jiu-jitsu community, showcasing the excellence and camaraderie of athletes from Guam and  beyond. This event is part of a four-country series that leads to the 5-star ASJJF ranked grand  finale—The Marianas Open. With one of the largest prize pools globally, this event showcases an impressive $50,000!

Location: Aichi, Nagoya, Minato Ward. Japan 

Prizes: 31 lucky individuals will be awarded roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations to  Guam, to compete in the Marianas Open. Competitors will vie for a chance to claim their  share of the impressive $50,000 cash prize pool.
