GUAHAN BOYS WIN NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Three divisions win medals at USA Championships

The Guahan Boys 16s took gold in the 16s Club Division at the 2025 USA Volleyball Boys Junior National Championships.

They defeated Minnesota Select 16 (NO) in straight sets 25-22; 25-19 to win the Championship.

Three players, Jace Aguon, Kole Guerrero, and Antonio Egurrola, were selected to the All-Tournament Team. Egurrola was named MVP.

The Guahan Boys 18s and 15s also had strong showings in the three-day event. The 18s took first place in the Silver Bracket.

The 15s took home the bronze medal in the Gold Bracket.

Ray Ray Ruda, from the Guahan Boys 15s, made the 15s Club All-Tournament team.

“We held practice all year, and the fact that most of the boys had just finished their high school season really helped us prepare. We went with small rosters this year, and asked the boys to step up and performed. The whole point is to build up their experience in the hopes of eventually feeding the men’s national program,” said coach Steve Pangelinan, Guahan Boys coach and director.

Jace Aguon, Gauahan Boys 16s

“The chemistry was already there from the beginning. This team competed last year and nearly brought home some hardware. This year was different. We improved both as individual players and as a team, while also gaining experience from our previous trip. We were determined to win and have fun, two key factors that greatly contributed to our success in this tournament.”

Kole Guerrero, Guahan Boys 16s

“Our coach and us believed that we could go far in this tournament it was really just up to us if we wanted to win or not. Of course there was gonna be nerves but we knew what we came for. We were only a team of 8 so like our coach said there was time for us to complain about being hurt or sore. we had our ups and downs but in the end we all pushed through and came on top.”

Antonio Egurrola, Guahan Boys 16s

“In our practices back home we gradually started to build chemistry with the team. From our practices all the way to the championship our main focus was on chemistry and communication.”
