ADAMOS STRIKES GOLD AT PAN AMERICAN

PRESS RELEASE – Carbs Jiu-Jitsu is proud to celebrate a special moment for our team and our island. T’ana Adamos has earned gold at the 2026 IBJJF Pan American Championships, continuing her remarkable rise among the sport’s emerging elite.

This victory marks her second title in the IBJJF Grand Slam circuit, following her European Championship gold medal in January in Portugal. This was her very first Pan American appearance at the  juvenile/adult level at just 16 years old. She also holds the title of IBJJF Pan Kids Champion — the highest achievement in youth jiu-jitsu just last year. 

T’ana competed with calm, confidence, and maturity beyond her years. She secured two dominant wins — opening with a submission and finishing her final match with a strong points lead before her opponent was unable to continue. Across both matches, she did not concede a single point, a reflection of her hardwork, preparation, and technical growth against highly experienced competitors from around the world. 

With titles now at both the European and Pan American Championships, T’ana has claimed two of the four Grand Slam events — placing her in an exciting position as she continues her pursuit of one of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s most prestigious accomplishments. 

What makes this journey even more meaningful is where it began. T’ana is a homegrown athlete, developed right here on Guam. Every step of her preparation has been built locally, guided and mentored by her Professor Mike Carbullido and instructors, teammates, and community at Carbs Jiu-Jitsu. Her success is not only her own — it represents the strength, pride, and growing  presence of Guam within the global jiu-jitsu community.

She is truly a product of Guam, and we’re honored to be part of her journey and we  will continue to do our best to help her grow and achieve as much as possible.” 

“T’ana embodies everything we value—discipline, consistency, and pride in where we come from,” added Kristy Carbullido. “Watching her compete at this level, against the best in the world, without conceding a single point, is incredibly special. She’s representing not just our team, but Guam, in the best way.” 

Carbs Jiu-Jitsu extends heartfelt thanks to its instructors, staff, training partners, and the entire Guam community for their continued support. We also recognize the spirit of competition and wish T’ana’s opponent a full and speedy recovery. 

Looking ahead, T’ana will continue her Grand Slam campaign with the Brazilian National  Championships in April and the IBJJF World Championships in May. Alongside these major events, she remains committed to staying active in local and regional competitions — continuing to grow, sharpen her skills, and represent Guam with pride every step of the way.
