After two sets of GovGuam Coed Volleyball League action Team Kotte defeated GMHA 25-19, 25-14 at the DPR sports complex and remain to be the only undefeated team at 5-0 in the Tasi division.

The lead switched back and forth to begin the first set as each team committed numerous unforced errors. It wasn’t until Kotte’s Kin Charfaurous slammed down a monstrous kill off a long pass from GMHA to give his team their biggest lead of the set at 16-10. But GMHA did not give up and was able to go on a 7-0 run that included an ace and a couple kills from Joseph Fantonalgo and three straight Kotte errors. However, the 17-16 lead was the last time GMHA would be able to mount the defending champions as it was their last lead for the game. After two straight kills from Kotte’s John Chaco and six straight unforced errors from GMHA, Charfaurous was able to spike down another kill to give Kotte the first set at 25-19.

http://iconnectasia.com/iconnectguam/Team Kotte picked up right where they left off to begin the second set as they went on a 7-2 run that featured the highlight play of the game that had Kotte’s Charfaurous slamming a hard kill through the GMHA defense off a beautiful quick set from teammate Sonda Yatar. GMHA was able to break the ice on offense off an ace to put the score at 7-3. Kotte’s John Chargualaf answered back with three straight kills of his own and

from then on, the smooth-grooving Kotte offense committed only four unforced errors and was able to keep GMHA at bay to take the win and drop GMHA’s record below 50% at 2-3.

Charfaurous and Chargualaf had seven kills to lead Kotte while Chaco chipped in six.

In the losing effort, Fantonalgo tallied five kills for GMHA.
