The Andersen Bombers looked like they are in good shape as they steamrolled their way through Team Legacy 86-47 in the Golden Hoops Basketball Tournament Sunday afternoon at the Tamuning gym.

It did not seem to matter that the Bombers only had seven players that were dressed and ready to play, because they out hustled Legacy on both ends of the court.

Andersen’s offense got off to a quick start as they opened the game with an 8-0 run thanks to easy buckets made by Christopher Thomas and Jordan Gaddy.

Legacy’s Chris Camacho kept their hopes alive driving his way through the bombers big men getting in a few points to cut the lead down to 17-7 ten minutes into the first half. However the Bombers answered right back with a highlight reel slam-dunk from Thomas, “We played good offensively,” said Thomas who shot 14 of his 20 points in the first half.

Although being down by double digits Camacho got help from teammate Rodrigo Grande who was able to sink in a three pointer from the left corner bringing Legacy within seven points making the score 25-17 midway through the first quarter. Andersen’s explosive offense was too much for Legacy’s defense as the Bombers were leading 45-25 by the end of the half.

In the second half, the Bombers picked up where they left off as their aggressive defense lead to many fast break points, which were more often than not, dunks. “We we’re in a slump, and we just want to improve on defense,” added Thomas

Andersen sealed the deal after Ledget Glover lobbed a pass to teammate Barry Endsley for the highlight reel alley oop which was the exclamation point on the game. “We want to win it. That’s the goal,” said Thomas who led all scorers with 20 points.

Camacho led Legacy with 31 points.
