FRIARS OUT-MATCH GECKOS

[sixcol_five_last]

By Robert Balajadia

2013 IIAAG wrestling is officially underway and the FD Friars opened up the season with a 51-24 win over the GW Geckos.

Friars Leonardo Tudela had the fastest match of the night, pinning Joseph Munoz in just 11 seconds in the 182 lb. match.

FD’s Derrick Artero and GW’s Donovan Fernandez seemed to be the crowd favorite of the night in the 220 lb. division with Fernandez pinning Artero late in the second round despite Artero leading in the point category.

The Geckos forfeited three matches in the 106, 145, and 195 lb.

Here are the complete results: (All photos are courtesy of GSPN)

106 – Friars Nicolas Duenas wins via forfeit.

113 – Friars Cyril Maravilla def. Geckos Jude Garcia via 3rd round pin.
