They also have a new 2nd baseman this year, and the only girl on the team, Tamisha Fejeran. Tamisha is well known on the softball diamond in IIAGG competition. She has played with boys before starting with little league at age 9.

Tamisha played on three all-star baseball teams before finally taking up softball her freshman year. She already has three softball titles with Southern.

GSPN- Give us a little background on how you started playing in baseball and softball.

TF- I started playing baseball when I was 9. I went to watch my cousin’s baseball game and I saw a girl playing. I wanted to try it out. I never knew girls could play baseball, until I saw that girl playing. So I tried it out and I ended up playing baseball. I started playing softball when I was 15. My mom motivated me to play something new and also to try playing a sport with girls. So I played and now I love playing it!

GSPN- Is this your first year playing for Southern Baseball?

TF- Yes this is my first year playing for Southern Baseball. I’m starting 2nd base with the boys.

GSPN- Third time was a charm for the Dolphins versus JFK. Do you feel Southern has the team to win the baseball title this year.

TF- Yes we do have the team and talent, we just have to work together.

GSPN- Your other sport is softball. The Lady Dolphins have a dynasty with four straight titles. What has been the key to the team’s success?

TF- The key we have is working together and communication with the coaches.

GSPN- What are your goals for your senior year?

TF- My goals for my senior year is ending my senior year with the championship title!

GSPN- Do you aspire to play collegiate softball?

TF- Yes I want to play college softball and that’s my plan after high school.

GSPN-Where do you see yourself in five years?

TF- In five years, I see myself teaching softball to the girls that want to learn it.

GSPN- Anyone you want to thank for your success?

TF- I would like thank my family for always supporting me. But most especially to my dad because without him pushing me to work harder and harder each day, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So I thank him a lot. My dad Patrick Fejeran & my mom Bernie Fejeran for always taking me to my games.
