Guam’s MMA superstar Jon “Super Saiyan” Tuck impressed UFC President Dana White in his first ever UFC fight with a Unanimous Decision win against China’s favored Tiequan Zhang in Macao. So much so that White granted Tuck another fight, this time against a much more dangerous submission threat in “Stormin'” Norman Parke at UFC Machida vs. Munoz in Manchester, England.
Tuck has a perfect 7-0 MMA career record while Park comes in as the more experienced fighter at 18-2. This fight was rescheduled do to an injury Tuck suffered earlier in the year, but Tuck has fully recovered since then.
Tuck weighed in at exactly 155 lbs, claiming it was the easiest weight cut he ever had to make according to his Facebook post. In regards to Tuck’s Facebook, many fans have expressed their support from all over the world by pouring in numerous amounts of cheers, attempting to make #WARTUCK a trending topic.
If only the television could project the actual cheers from the MMA fans from Guam and across the world during his fight, #teamTuck and many variations of a hashtag “#” followed by “Tuck” would surly be trending.
The fight against Zhang was the first time a Tuck opponent made it out of the first round and Tuck will be looking to find further success in his MMA career by stopping Parke.
No matter how Tuck performs in the cage on Oct. 26 Saturday night (Sunday Oct. 27, 5 a.m.Chamorro Standard Time), Guam, his fans, and even some of MMA’s finest can appreciate his rise to MMA fame. Win or lose, Tuck is competing at the highest level of any MMA fighter to call Guam home.
This will be the biggest fight of Tuck’s career. He’s heard it. He knows it. He’s ready.
