Blues down Blue Jays 7-5

LEO PALACE PARK-  Budweiser Amateur Baseball Action played a night cap Saturday night with the Agana Heights Blues(3-11) taking on the Ralphy’s Blue Jays(6-8).  The Blues jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead and starter Keith Castro and reliever Johnny Sablan held off the Blue Jays attack for a Blues 7-5 win.

The Blues jumped on Blue Jays starter Justin Bennett in the 2nd inning with Brandon Bamba and Zach Sablan collecting two rbi hits to give the Blues a 7-0 lead.

The Blue Jays would cut the lead to 7-2 in the 3rd inning with a singles by Rob Westfall and Nate Weakly leading the offense.

Blue’s starter Keith Castro would hold off the Blue Jays until the 5th inning when the Blue Jays bats would finally get hot chasing Castro with four hits in the inning.   RBI singles by Keith Santos and Josh Perez capped the rally before Blues reliever Johnny Sablan would get the final out with the Blues leading 7-5.

Sablan would work out of trouble in the 6th and 7th innings stranding the tying runs on base to close out the game and give the Blues a 7-5 win.  Sablan notches the save with 2 1/3 innnings of scoreless relief and Castro picks up the win with a quality 4 2/3 innings allowing four earned runs and two strikeouts.

Brandon Bamba finished 2 for 2 with two rbi and a run scored to share Strike Zone Player of the Game with Sablan.  Zach Sablan and Jason Pangelinan had two hits each for the Blues who improve to 3-11  on the season.

Jay Cing pitched four innings of scoreless relief to keep the Blue Jays in the game.  Nate Weakly was 3 for 4 and Bennett is tagged with the loss for the Blue Jays who fall to 6-8 on the season.

Guam’s Jeremiah Camacho shot a perfect game at the 48th Hong Kong Open. The 22-year-old Guam National Team Member shot his 18th career perfect game on lanes 1 and 2 at Top Bowl Lanes in Hong Kong.
