
PRESS RELEASE – (Leo Palace Park)- Are You Game clinched the #1 seed with a 15-7 win over Bottomed Out Tuesday night at Leo Palace Resort as the Bud Light Women’s Fast Pitch League winds down its regular season. Saij Duenas was 3 for 3 with a triple and two runs and Samantha Quinata was 2 for 2 with two runs and two walks to share Strike Zone Player of the Game.
Are You Game started the scoring early in the first inning scoring five runs capped off by a two rbi triple by Brittney Blau. AYG would add two more runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings and looked to run away with the game early with a 9-0 lead through three innings.
AYG starting pitcher Kayla Dempsey cruised through the first three innings blanking the Bottomed Out offense but Bottomed Out would wake up the sticks in the 4th inning. Janice Campose would drive in the first two runs of the game for Bottomed Out with a rbi single and Meilani Quintanilla would add a two rbi triple as the Bottomed Out ladies would put seven runs on the board to cut the lead to 9-7.
AYG would answer with four more runs in the bottom half of the fourth inning with Colleen Quinata and Sirena Cepeda delivering rbi hits. AYG would score two more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to end the game by the 8 run mercy rule for a 15-7 win.
Dempsey picks up the win and Meagan Maratita notches the save with a 1 1/3 innings of relief. Are You Game stays unbeaten, improving to 5-0 on the season and clinches the #1 seed for the Queen of the Diamond Championship Tournament scheduled to start Sunday at Leo Palace Resort.
Shadow Balajadia and Janice Campos collected two hits each in the loss. Bottomed Out drops their record to 3-2 and is currently tied for third place.
