PRESS RELEASE – The Doosan Lady Crushers will have the opportunity to exact revenge on Quality Distributors – the only team so far to win a match against the current Bud Light Women’s Soccer League frontrunners – in a Week 6 match up Sunday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.
After the first set of round robin matches of the regular season, the Lady Crushers are on top with a 4-1 record, with its lone loss against Quality in Week 4. The Lady Crushers slipped to second place in league standings following the loss, but a 7-1 victory over the previously undefeated Lady Rovers in Week 5 catapulted the team back to the top position.
Golden Boot race leader Colleen Naden led the Lady Crushers with a hat trick and Skyylerblu Johnson chipped in two. Maria Abbey Iriarte and Simie Willter also scored for the Lady Crushers. Catherine Kendall scored the lone goal for the Lady Rovers.
In other Week 5 matches, Quality defeated Guam Shipyard 5-1, led by April Talledo’s hat trick. Estelle Alig and Paris “Mames” Blas also scored for Quality. Regina Shiroma scored the lone goal for Guam Shipyard.
The Paintco Lady Strykers defeated Hyundai 12-2 led by Dausha Magalhaes’ four goals. Kim Sherman and Yae Kawauchi each contributed a hat trick and Koharu Minato scored twice. Shana Spindel and Ianna Mariano scored for Hyundai.
Women’s soccer continues Sunday with Quality taking on the Lady Crushers at 5:30 p.m. on United Airlines Field 2 and Hyundai playing against Guam Shipyard on United Airlines Field 1 also at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Rovers will face the Lady Strykers at 7:30 p.m. on United Airlines Field 2.
