
PRESS RELEASE –Rovers City capped its undefeated season in the Budweiser Futsal League with the championship title following its 6-4 edge of Quality Distributors in the playoff finals at the Guam Sports Complex Gym Sunday. Posing with the championship trophy are from left, GFA General Secretary Tino San Gil, Robert Putko, Vinicius Rodrigues, Ian Mariano, David Drews, Dave Bush, Jonahan Romero, Regis Cavalie, and Jason Cunliffe.
In the championship match, Jonahan Romero and Ian Mariano led Rovers City with two goals each and Vinicius Rodrigues and Jason Cunliffe also scored. Scott Spindel scored twice for Quality and teammates Paul Long and Jan-Willem Staman also scored. In the consolation match, the Paintco Strykers defeated the Southern Cobras 12-9, led by William Kerr’s four goals. Francis Chargualaf finished with a hat trick and teammates RC Salas and Ross Awa each scored twice. Mike Cruz scored the Strykers’ other goal. Ashton Surber led all scorers with five goals for the Cobras. Donovan Reyes and Austin Cruz each scored twice for the final score.
