
PRESS RELEASE – Santos carries Braves to extra inning win over Amigos
Sumay Braves 4, Chalan Pago Amigos 3
The Budweiser Wood Bat League game of the weekend featured the undefeated Sumay Braves (6-0) taking on the Chalan Pago Amigos (1-5). After tying the game up in the bottom of the 5th inning the Braves and Amigos would play scoreless ball into extra innings until Strike Zone Player of the Game Vince Santos would drive in RJ Escalona with the winning run to give the Braves a 4-3 walk off win.
Santos would also notch the win on the mound coming out of the bullpen in the 5th inning to hold the Amigos scoreless for 5 innings with 7 strikeouts. Starter Kyle Wilson exited in the 5th inning allowing three earned runs over 4 1/3 innings.
Amigos reliever Brandon Panaguiton would get the loss despite allowing just one earned run over 4 1/3 innings on just one hit. Panaguiton would exit after hitting the leadoff batter in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Amigos bullpen would get a strikeout before a walk and hit by pitch would load the bases. Santos would drive a fly ball to left field just deep enough to score Escalona and give the Braves their sixth straight win on the season.
AutoSpot Orioles 11, Da Rookies 1
The AutoSpot Orioles (4-2) took down Da Rookies (1-5) in a 6 inning mercy rule 11-1 win. Roke Alcantara picks up the win allowing just one earned run with seven strikeouts in just four innings of work. Luis San Nicolas pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the Orioles.
Lawrence Aflague is tagged with the loss allowing seven earned runs over 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts. Dominic Mendiola drove in the only run with a RBI single scoring Brandon Rosario who had singled to start the 2nd inning. Da Rookies drop to 1-5 on the season.
Anderson Bombers 9, Blue Jays 8
In another extra inning thriller the Anderson Bombers came from behind to down the Blue Jays 9-8 in 9 innings. Mac Burdick would deliver a walk off RBI single to score Bo Prather as the Bombers would rally from behind in three consecutive innings to pick up the hard fought win.
Blue Jays starter Brian Santos went all 9 innings allowing 6 earned runs with 6 strikeouts but picks up the loss. Leadoff hitter and centerfielder Keith Castro ignited the Blue Jays out of the leadoff spot going 2-4 with two runs, RBI and stole base. Castro also delivered a game saving throw in the bottom of the 6th inning to cut down a runner at the plate and end a Bomber rally.
The Bombers Ryan Coleman gets the win and Strike Zone Player of the Game coming out of the bullpen to allow just two earned runs in 6 innnigs with 7 strikeouts. Coleman was also 3-5 at the plate with 3 RBI including the came tying RBI double in the bottom of the 7th to send the game into extra innings.
The Bombers improve to 4-2 and the Blue Jays drop to 2-4 on the season.

GIRLS FASTPITCH
Girls FastPitch Fall Ball kicked off this Sunday at Okkodo High School with the ladies eager to swing the bats and some familiar teams picking up wins.
Juice 16, Lady Tokka 5
Defending Spring league champions Team Juice picked up their first win of the season with a balanced attack. Fran Blas, Christine Rosal and Tiara Santos all scored three runs and shortstop Merced Flores was 2-3 with 3 RBI to pick up Strike Zone Player of the Game.
Janise Quintanilla picked up the win going 5 innings, allowing only two earned runs and four hits with 2 strikeouts as Juice starts the season 1-0.
Lady Tokka couldn’t get their offense to click besides a 2nd inning rally where they plated four runs. Danielle Preuc had a two RBI single and Naelani Pereda a RBI double as Lady Tokka drops to 0-1.
Bottomed Out 13, CrossFit HITA 7
Spring league runner-up Bottomed Out also slugged their way to a 14-7 win over CrossFit HITA. Larissa Dirige was 2-2 with 3 runs to pick up Strike Zone Player of the Game. Tiff Miner went the distance bouncing back from a rough first inning to pick up the win allowing only six hits and 4 earned runs with 4 strikeouts over 7 innings.
CrossFit HITA jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the 1st inning with RBI singles by Abigail Mravljas starting the rally. Bottomed Out would answer with 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st to tie it up 4-4.
In the bottom of the 4th inning consecutive singles by Bottomed Outs’ Pauly Quintanilla, Tomisha Roberto and Larissa Dirige would deliver four more runs to take a commanding 10-5 lead. Three more runs in the 5th inning capped by a 2 RBI double by Vanessa Cruz would seal the win.
Kiana Rivera was 2-3 and Meagan Maratita and Ciara Cali scored two runs for CrossFit HITA who begins the season 0-1.
T” Bzns Mu Nai 7 Lady Dodgers 12
In the Sunday nightcap Jasmine Balajadia was 2-4 with 3 runs to lead the Lady Dodgers to a 12-7 win over T” Bzns Mu Nai. Alexis Aguerro notches the win going 7 innings with 5 strikeouts as the Lady Dodgers start the season 1-0.
Jeri Taimanglo was 2-3 with a RBI triple and Susan Mannino was 3-3 with 2 RBI in the loss for T” Bzns Mu Nai. Juliana Santos is tagged with the loss despite allowing only 2 earned runs with 5 strikeouts in 5 innings out of the bullpen.\

Santa Rita Braves finish perfect in Masters Fall Ball regular season
Sinajana Giants 3, Santa Rita Braves 16
Santa Rita Braves finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record and #1 seed for the playoffs taking down the Sinajana Giants 16-3 in Budweiser Fall Ball Masters League action Sunday at Leo Palace Resort.
Rick Tedtaotao lead a potent Braves offense going 3-4 with 3 runs and 3 RBI to earn Strike Zone Player of the Game. Starting pitcher George Pecina picks up the win with four strong innings allowing only two earned runs with 3 strikeouts.
Bruce Fejeran was 2-2 and Luke Tedtaotao was 1-1 with two runs scored for the Giants who finish the regular season 1-6.
Guahan Old School 10, MTM Falcons 7
Lynwood Baker was 2-4 with 2 RBI and 2 stolen bases to pick up SZPOG and lead Guahan Old School to a 10-7 win over the MTM Falcons. Old School would break a 7-7 tie in the bottom of the 6th inning scoring three runs with a RBI single by Kin Fernandez capping the rally and giving Old School a 10-7 lead. Fernandez would close out the Falcons in the 7th to notch the win.
Guahan Old School improves to 5-1 and clinches the #2 seed for the playoffs. The Falcons finish at 3-4 and clinch the #5 seed for the playoffs.
Yona Rulz 12, Island Mix Kosrae Masters 0
Yona Rulz picked up their first win of the season with starting pitcher Vic Fernandez throwing a 5 innings shutout as Yona won 12-0 in a 5 inning mercy rule game. Rich Benavente was 1-2 with three runs and two RBI to share Strike Zone Player of the Game with Fernandez.
Island Mix managed only one hit off the bat of John Cruz against Fernandez who pitched to one batter over the minimum for a 5 inning game. Yona improves to 1-4 with several makeups remaining on the schedule and Island Mix finishes the season at 2-4. Playoff seedings have yet to be clinched.
