PRESS RELEASE – Bud Light Golden Hoops Classic (GHC) 2018 Spring Tournament completed its championship game in the open coed recreation division on Sunday at Tamuning Gym.
The Tamuning Typhoons seeded 1 swept the playoffs defeating Team Haddock 93-91 for the title. Typhoons Billy Belger led the offense scoring a game high 30 points and was named MVP. Teammates Tony Hsieh scored 18 points followed by Anthony Brown with 17 points and Edgardo Baza with 16 points. Sportsmanship played a big role throughout the tournament and Guam Windward Memorial (GWM) was awarded the 2018 Spring trophy. “GWM played each game with a positive attitude and exemplified that exercising and having fun outside of the work place is real,” said tournament coordinator Elsa Ulloa.
