ISLANDERS TAKE NAIL-BITER OVER BULLDOGS

The JFK Lady Islanders made key plays in the 4th quarter as they mounted a small comeback to beat the visiting Okkodo Bulldogs Tuesday evening 44-43 in ISA Girls Basketball. It was a close and competitive contest all through out with the lead changing hands every quarter.

The Islanders had their big weekend games postponed against FD for the boys and Academy for the girls which meant almost a week has gone by since their last league action.

Islander Jada Han scored 14 points to lead her team with teammate Hannah Gogue chipping in with a big nine points. Gogue and Han provided big buckets in the 4th to retake the lead as they entered the period trailing 36-33. Defense would also prove a big factor as JFK held Okkodo to just seven 4th quarter points.

Okkodo’s Jasmine Samson scored 14 points and temmate Joselyn Borja also added 9 as Okkodo’s top scorers mirrored JFK.
