PRESS RELEASE – The Special Olympics Guam Organization announces the 47th Annual Track and Field Event. The 2023 Special Olympics Track and Field event will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Okkodo High School in Dededo.
It has been three years since our last Track and Field Event, which was canceled due to COVID pandemic. We are extremely excited to wheel back in to play our annual sporting events with a huge kick off. Event will start off at 5 am with the Law Enforcement Torch Run that is made up of our local and military Law Enforcement and Safety agencies. Opening Ceremonies begins at 8 am with the parade of athletes and the lighting of the cauldron. It is our hope and honor if you would be present for our Opening Ceremonies at 8 am, supporting our athletes.
Special Olympics Guam (SOGU) is a non-profit organization on Guam, that is accredited and recognized by Special Olympics International (SOI) the governing body for this Global Movement; SOGU is proud to announce that it strategically relocated to Special Olympics Asia Pacific Region as a means to become recognized by our surrounding island communities throughout the Asia and Pacific Region.
