The Guam Running Club celebrated Independence Day on Guam in the early morning with the Spirit of 76 6.7 mile run, starting at the Agana Shopping Center.  Runners battled a rough rainy morning that only slowed down in intensity as most runners crossed the finish line.

JFK’s star athlete and GSPN and Buddy’s Home Furnishings Athlete of the Month of May John Aquino came in first place with a time of 40 minutes, 37 seconds (unofficial time).  Gabe Lombard was not too far behind coming it at 43 minutes flat (unofficial time).

Runners started and ended at the Agana Shopping Center while battling heavy rain throughout their run.  The Andrade family  had one of the tougher challenges as they ran the entire event while pushing their two sons in a joint stroller.  While completing the event at a great time, Dad said he normally could finish the event in 45 minutes.
