AQUINO WINS OCEANIA TRACK GOLD

Four Guam athletes took to the medal stand in the Oceania Area Championships Junior & Senior in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.

High school star John Aquino was the lone gold medalist, winning the 5K junior division with a time of 16:01, beating out top runners from New Zealand and Kiribati.

Johnny Quitugua took silver in the triple jump with a jump of 12.5 meters while Genina Criss also took the silver medal in the 5K juniors as well.

Pedro Aquiningoc threw the javelin far enough for a bronze medal.

Bryant Pangelinan captured his 11th career medal at the IBJJF NoGi Jiu-Jitsu World Championships. Pangelinan battled for a bronze in the Master 3 Black Belt Heavyweight division in Dallas.
