The 2nd Annual ND Alumni Coed Volleyball Tournament in honor of Blaine Flores Afaisen made an even bigger splash over the 2015 Thanksgiving weekend than it’s first ever event in 2014. With the rosters opened up to allow more participants, the 2014 defending champion Team ’Mix Plate’ once again reigned supreme.

The first annual KONQER OCR (Obstacle Course Run) and Adventure Expo was a success Sunday afternoon at the Guam International Raceway grounds in Yigo. There were 600 racers who signed up for the unique inaugural event which included food vendors, rock climbing and zip lines for the children, an Adventure Expo and live music provided by EIF DJs.

In another intense night of IIAAG high school girl’s basketball action, it was the St. Paul Warriors looking to defend their home court against the visiting Tiyan Lady Titans. The game proved to be a close one with the Warriors narrowly escaping the Lady Titans’ charge, taking the home win 25-21.

The FD Friars are another step closer to a perfect season after winning their dual meets yesterday over the Guam High Panthers (74-6) and the Okkodo Bulldogs (55-15) in the IIAAG Boys Wrestling league. The Friars are focused and determined to win the All-Island title after finishing third last year.

Close to 200 youth soccer players competed with their respective teams in this weekend’s Youth Invitational Gobblefest Soccer Tournament, a tournament featuring visiting teams from the Philippines and Northern Mariana Islands, at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Academy Cougars girls basketball team extended their win streak a game further after taking down the visiting Southern Dolphins 69-46 at home to go (11-0) on the season. The streaking Cougars had to fend off a valiant Dolphin effort, using a 19-5 4th quarter to lock down the win.
