FRIARS CLINCH TENNIS TITLE

The FD Friars wrapped up an undefeated 9-0 season Tuesday afternoon with a with a 32-4 sweep over the JFK Islanders.

It is the Friars fifth tennis championship in seven years.

Senior Josh Cepeda finished off his high school career with an 8-2 victory over Albert Park of JFK. Junior Brian Tuncap Jr. blanked Al Labang 8-0. Tuncap finished the season unbeaten and goes into his senior season as the top seed in the league.

In doubles, the FD doubles #1 team of Andrew Chung and Shane Schnabel also finished an undefeated season with an 8-0 win over Stephen Ramirez and Seo Hyun Kim. FD seniors Christopher Hattori and Lucas Martin completed the FD sweep with an 8-2 victory over Andrew Dela Rosa and Elijah Reyes of JFK.
