The legendary Royce Gracie is officially on Guam.

After months of planning, the pioneer of MMA and jiu-jitsu alike came gliding through the Guam Airport with a giant smile despite it being a quarter past midnight, Guam time.

Fans expecting the legend had their phones ready for pictures and those unexpected had to double-take as the most famous of the renowned Gracie family wandered through.

“The flight was easy,” said Gracie with his award winning smile. “Finding time to get out here was the hard part, but I like it so far!”

Gracie’s four-day stay is booked with events, kicking off Saturday with the GSPN Kids Jiu-Jitsu tournament at the Agana Shopping Center, go time 1 pm.

Aside from the scheduled events, Gracie admitted he was ‘open to surprise’ as far as what else Guam has in store during his short stay.

Anywhere Gracie goes for the next four days will surely have a crowd in anticipation seeking handshakes, autographs, and selfies. But to Gracie, the added attention is most welcomed.

“That’s good, I welcome that! I feed off of that!” said the legend.

QUICK HITS

Guam national golf team player Aki Matsuno secured second place at the FCG Hawaii World Series championship.

Matsuno’s second place finish earned him an invitation to compete in the FCG Junior Golf Championship to be held in July 2025.

A junior at St. John’s, he is also currently leading the IIAAG high school All-Island golf competition, chasing the coveted individual high school golf title.

Guam Blooded: College freshman Brianne Graves is currently ranked 5th in the nation in the 103-lb DI women’s wrestling rankings. She just beat the defending All-American.
Bri finished high school in Cincinnati, ranked #2 in the nation before signing with North Central College, which is one of the top wrestling teams in the country.
Her Evangelista grandparents are originally from Yigo.
