GUAM’S BIGGEST PLAY DAY — KONQER DROPS SUNDAY

KONQER IS THIS SUNDAY!

PRESS RELEASE – KONQER, Guam’s original obstacle course challenge is hosting its third annual event on Sunday, Oct. 15 at Gov. Joseph Flores Memorial Park in Tumon and will feature fun activities for the entire family, according to KONQER Sports President Kelli Wedd.

“Our mission is to promote wellness through play throughout the island, and what better way to do that than transform the park into the ultimate playground for both kids and adults?” said Wedd. “Whether you want to cheer on our KONQER Brigade as they take on the 15 manmade obstacles, let your kids have a blast on the inflatables in Kid’s KONQERLAND, challenge your friends to a game of Cornhole or giant Jenga, or just sit with a cold beer and enjoy the view of Tumon Bay, there’s something for everyone on Sunday.”

Admission to the park is free and the initial start for the obstacle course participants starts at 9 a.m. with wave starts continuing throughout the day. Food and beverage vendors scheduled to attend are Coffee Slut, Heavy Hitters, Munchies, Mannge Pops, Guam Snowie, Mountain Dew and Coors Light, and park pavilions will be available to the public free of charge on a first come, first served basis. Live music will start at 1 p.m. and includes The Cool Down and The Original M80’s.

Online registration for the obstacle course challenge is open through Friday, Oct. 13 at konqersports.com. Individuals may also register on event day by visiting the registration table located at the park amphitheater. The course features a combination beach and road run, more than 30 manmade obstacles and localized challenges, including Guam’s first-ever Giant bicycle obstacle course.

“We invite everyone to Ypao on Sunday and enjoy everything KONQER has to offer,” said Wedd. “Come out and play!”

KONQER is presented by Guam Visitors Bureau, and sponsored by Bank of Guam, IT&E, Coors Light, Hanom Water, Mountain Dew, Go Pro, DR Safety Consultant, Hornet Sports, Giant Bicycles, Perez Brothers Inc., and Trivision Media Group.
