Battle Showcase Guam takes place Saturday February 16, 2019 at the Guam International Raceway Drag Strip. Gates open at 4pm with a lineup of eight different battles taking place simultaneously all in one evening for all to enjoy!

Battle Showcase Guam takes place Saturday February 16, 2019 at the Guam International Raceway Drag Strip. Gates open at 4pm with a lineup of eight different battles taking place simultaneously all in one evening for all to enjoy!

Battle Showcase is a once a year lifestyle festival that highlights competition in Auto customization, Urban arts, racing, and motorsports. This year the addition of a small but first for Guam, Food Truck Battle takes place with local foodie judges as the taste testers.

Features:

  • Custom Auto / Bike Show Battle – with Guest Judge Itsuki Terada, producer of Japan’s Cross Five Super Show.
  • Drag Race Battle – Heads up racing down the 1/4 mile in 15 sec – 11 sec Divisions.
  • Drifting – Drift exhibition on the drag strip by Guam’s best drifters.
  • DB Battle – Bass equipped vehicles go head to head in an audio battle to find out who’s the loudest.
  • 1 on 1 B-Boy Battle (Break Dancing)
  • 1 on 1 Graffiti Battle – Battle Showcase II  winner Ronald Larrew “Author” takes on tattoo artist Paolo “Mad Pow” Madlagbayan
  • DJ Battle exhibition by DJ Sylnt, DJ Ace, DJ Ryan the Mixologist
  • Guam’s first Food Truck Battle: (6 entries) Bongdoza’s, Korned, A&L Foods, G&G, MaTacos, Yuuniku. 3 Awards: Best Food Truck, Best Signature Dish, Best Truck / Trailer Design & Theme.
  • Vendor displays and activities: Proline, Fewture Clothing, Napa Auto Parts, Lorzalyn Face Paintings etc.

Patrons can pre-purchase tickets to the event for $10 online at guamraceway.com, upshiftent.com or in-person at Proline, Car Audio Image, Hafaloha, Opake, all Foody’s/Shells, and all Napa Auto Parts locations. Admission at the gate is $15. Children ages 11 and under get in FREE.

QUICK HITS

The JFK Islanders won the first ever Memorial Weekend High School Basketball Tournament.

The All-Tournament selection were Zhion Macapinlac JFK, Darwin Ecijan JFK, Matthew Quinata Southern, and Malcom Fernandez Tiyan.

JFK’s Collin Rillamas was named tournament MVP.

The Prospects captured the Guam PONY Colt Spring Baseball League (14-16) championship Saturday with a masterful 2-0 win over the Smokies.
Pitchers Gavin Alcantara (5 innings) and Javier Taimanglo (2 innings) combined to throw a no-hitter.
Taimanglo and Juan Carlo Presnell drove in the two runs for the Prospects, and Skyler Paulino had two hits.
