SIFA’S KING NAMED M.S. VBALL MVP

PRESS RELEASE – SIFA outside hitter Katheleya King was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2025 IIAAG Middle School Girls Volleyball League after a standout season in which she led her team in both kills and blocks.

King anchored the SIFA offense throughout the year and played a key role in the Lady Manta Rays’ third-place finish. Her consistent scoring, defensive presence at the net, and leadership on the court set her apart in a competitive league field. She was joined on the All-Star team by teammate Serenity Porte, a setter who helped direct SIFA’s attack all season.

While individual honors highlighted King’s performance, the 2025 season will also be remembered for the historic championship run by Bishop, which completed an undefeated regular season at 11-0 and defended their 2024 title. The Obispos went on to win two playoff matches to secure the league title. Bishop defeated St. John’s in the semifinals and Mt. Carmel in the finals to finish 13-0 overall.

The Obispos became the first unbeaten middle school girls volleyball champion since Harvest Christian Academy accomplished the feat in 2022, when it defeated SIFA in the championship match.

Bishop placed three players on the All-Star team: outside hitters Charli Castro and Keira Hattig, along with libero Alana Duenas, reflecting the depth and balance that defined the team’s perfect season.

Runner-up Mt. Carmel, which finished second overall, earned two All-Star selections in outside hitter Cielo Consebido and setter Jhonielyn Leon Guerrero. St. John’s, which finished fourth, was also represented by two All-Stars: outside hitter Keri Miyashita and setter Konsolasion Flores.

The 2026 All-Star selections reflect a season defined by high-level play, emerging talent, and a championship performance that will stand among the league’s most memorable.
