GUAM REELS IN MAJURO BILLFISH WIN

Guam came out on top in the 22nd All Micronesia Billfish Tournament.

A Guam team consisting of Paul Shimizu, Frank Shimizu, Jr., P. Tim Aguon and Gary Roberto captured first place in the 22nd Annual All Micronesia Billfish Tournament organized by Marshall Islands Billfish Club this past weekend in Majuro.

The team was on board the ‘Marah’, a  38-foot vessel owned and operated by Wally Milne.

A total of 12 teams from Japan, United Kingdom, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Pohnpei, Kwajalein, U.S. and Guam competed in the two-day tournament.

Powered by Ambros Inc., the team totaled 945 points overall, just 10 points over the 2nd place Kwajalein team. Their 345-lb. marlin was good enough for third place in the marlin division. The largest marlin catch was 438-lbs. by the Kwajalein team.
