PRESS RELEASE – The Pay-Less Markets Community Foundation (PMCF) is proud to announce the 2015 Kick the Fat 5k beneficiaries – Erica’s House of Hope, Harvest House, Rigalu Foundation, Sanctuary, Inc of Guam, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Parents Empowering Parents, Inc., and Youth For Youth LIVE! Guam.
On December 14, 2014, PMCF launched the 2015 Kick the Fat 5k Mini Grant, geared to support local non-profit organizations that are currently meeting the needs of our island residents. Local non-profit community-based organizations that address significant community needs especially in addressing key issues relating to improving the quality of life of the people of Guam were eligible to submit proposals. The grant amount will be contingent upon the funds raised through the 2015 Pay-Less Kick the Fat 5k on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
Registration is now open for the 19th annual “Pay-Less Kick the Fat 5K Run/Walk & Community Fair” scheduled for Saturday, March 21st at Paseo Stadium in Hagåtña. The event includes a community fair immediately following the race. As anticipation and participation for this 5k race continues to grow, “Pay-Less is proud to not only promote health and wellness in our community, but also raise funds and awareness for local non-profit organizations and help to improve the quality of life for the people of Guam,” says Kathy Sgro, Chairwoman and Executive Vice President of Pay-Less Supermarkets.
Registration is now available online at www.paylessmarkets.com or in-store at any Pay-Less Supermarkets location (Hagåtña, Sinajana, Sumay, Oka, Dededo, Yigo, Mangilao and Micronesia Mall). Early entry fees, which include chip timing are: $10 per person until March 13th at 6pm. Registration without chip timing will also be available at KTF Packet Pickup, which will be held on Satuday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th from 12noon-6pm at the Agana Shopping Center’s Expo Hall and a week before the event, $15 per person. $20 on race morning at Paseo Stadium in Hagåtña.
